The Opportunity
We are seeking three strong singer/actresses with musical improvisation skills for an R&D project in Birmingham running through November and December 2022. Performers must be available for all dates. We are interested in working with diverse Birmingham based performers who can work collaboratively,thinkimaginativelyandcontributeproactively. Performersmustbeavailableforall dates.
- Audition 1: Monday 17th October 12-2 or 2-4pm
- Audition 2: Wednesday 19th October 12-2 or 2-4pm
- Rehearsal Dates 1: 1st & 2nd November 2022
- Performance Date 1: 3rd November 2022
- Rehearsal Dates 2: End of November. tbc.
- Performance Date 2: 9th December 2022
- Performance Date 3: 10th December 2022
- Performance Date 4: 11th December 2022
The performance on the 3rd November will be a private party. The performances on 9th-11th December will be the debut of Birmingham’s newest dining – cabaret night, featuring musical comedy and spell binding circus wrapped around an empowering story of fear, dreams and perceived impossibility.
We’re making and funding this R&D ourselves and hope to build relationships with artists to collectively apply for ACE project funding in January 2022. If our message speaks to you, come find out more.

Fees
- Rehearsal Days: £100
- Nov 3rd. Performance Day: £200 (Private Party)
- December Performance Days: £100 (Our Show)
We’ll look after you, feed you and where we can we shall try to help with accommodation for rehearsal and performance days.
Role Specifications
- You must have strong singing and acting ability.
- Be a strong performer that can demand presence in any moment.
- Feel comfortable acting absolutely ridiculous* in front of large crowds of people.
- You feel comfortable turning a moment into a musical through improvising about your interactions and environment.
- Be prepared to help with the get in and get out and willing to pitch in.
- You are available for all of the above rehearsal and performance dates.
*Meaning you are not scared to make a fool of yourself.
